How to read a VPN deal
- "Per month" is a division, not a price. A "$2.19/month" two-year plan is a $53 charge today.
- The renewal is the real price. Most two-year plans renew yearly at two to three times the intro rate. Put the date in your calendar.
- "Free months" beat "percent off". Extra months on the same charge lower the true cost; a bigger percentage on a higher list price often does not.
- App Store prices differ. Buying through Apple or Google is usually dearer and refunds follow the store's rules, not the provider's.
